Thanksgiving Weekend

Over Thanksgiving weekend, my dad and stepmom flew down to spend the holiday with us. My dad is a private pilot and flew his plane down -- what fun the boys had! He took them flying while us girls went shopping!

Cade took to sucking his fingers, but only momentarily. He has yet to show a preference.

Thanksgiving weekend also brought Cade's first taste of food. Didn't go over too well. We are still only trying it every couple days.

Our 2009 Christmas Card Photo Shoot

This is surprisingly good...but Caedmon's eyes look possessed.

So this was one of the keepers, although Cabot is in his own little world. But pictures are reality!!

This cracks me up -- check out Cabot's sly look. I think he picked a flower 2 seconds later.

So here is another keeper, again, very real to life!

Cabot's individual shot.

Caedmon's solo shot.

Canon's best pick.

Sweet Caedmon...

Aren't those little names so cute!

Another try, but we don't want Cade to know he was almost dropped as a baby.

Another panic-stricken look from the youngest!

So Canon resorted to brute force...
After 100 shots, we were so done!

Since October...

So, long time no see! Yes, we have been super busy around here. November kicked off with our family vacation to Disney World. Yes, we took 3 kids under 5 to Disney World. Yes, we are stupid. In fact, Cabot went last Fall at exactly 4 months and 1 week, and Caedmon was the exact same age on this trip (to the day!) Funny how time makes you forget the bad. I guess that's why we all have more babies...
So here the some highlights. We actually took some "same spot as last year" pictures that are such a great comparison. But I will save those for later. I have a lot of catching up to do!

Our filthy child chomping on an all day lolly, too bad it only took him 20 minutes. Moments before this shot, he was painting the hairy legs you see behind him. And no, those are not Chris'.

Hanging out on the bridge, watching the showboat. What a big boy!

Striking a pose! Does he not look ready for a Gap ad? Except for the sweet gingham bib I guess.

Cade's wide eyes watching the Little Einsteins show.

Cade and I, he was such a great little traveler!

The duo with Prince Caspian from Narnia. Canon waited FOREVER to get to see him! Rather him than Mickey, I guess he is growing up. miracles do happen...

Snoozing babies while we ate our Ghiradelli sundaes. Mmmmm.

Canon's gigantic sundae that he didn't have to share a bit of! Check out those sprinkles!

Ahhh, yes, after spending an enormous amount of $ to go to Disney, our son was only interested in the wipes case from the diaper bag. Go figure.

Another favorite, Marie the cat from Aristocats. Canon has strange taste.

This was a typical scene. Canon smiling, character in posing position, Cabot running for the hills. note: Donald's arm extended right after he broke loose...

The beautiful castle filled with Christmas lights. We love going around the Holidays.

At a late night Christmas party, in Santa pj's, watching the parade.

Believe it or not, Cabot was steering this teacup!

His first ears, I love the shadow on the step behind him.

Ahhh, yes, the playground. Highlight of the day.

Cade's first ride he was actually awake on, Winnie the Pooh. What huge eyes!

Great family shot on the Peter Pan ride.

Canon's favorite spot, King Arthur's Sword.

Cabot loved the characters, note the squinting eyes!

Day 1, Cade slept for 4 hours in the sling!

Tradition, first ride is Small World for all 3 of the boys. Caedmon just happened to be sleeping!

Yup, that sums up a week of fun!

Recent Happenings

This past week was pretty exciting around here. After a series of interviews, I have been offered (and I accepted) a position with Susan G. Komen For the Cure. I am officially the Affiliate Coordinator for Central GA. What does that mean? THAT I am still learning. Today marks day 4 on the job. I work part time every morning, late night hours at the computer after the kids are in bed, and some weekend events. I will be blogging alot about Komen and what we do to end breast cancer forever! The picture below is after my first fundraising event this past weekend -- I am holding our press release for the Race for the Cure. All I have to say is thank goodness I don't actually have to run in this race, I would never have gotten the job!

We enjoyed going to Providence Park last Saturday. It is the home of the Little Grand Canyon here in GA. This is a very pretty and scenic product of an eroding riverbed. We hiked a couple miles down and around the canyon floor. The first picture below is actually on our way home from our day-long adventure. Cabot got ahold of the Vaseline in the diaper bag and proceeded to paint EVERYTHING within a 3 ft. radius of his car seat. It's hard to see, but he was iced pretty well with the stuff. And so are his intestines...

Setting rituals...

So we are setting some brotherly rituals around here. Of course boys love the out of doors, but their momma, not so much! Summer begins around here in March and lasts until November, so I am SICK of the heat by now! I rarely go outside because of the stinkin' heat! and the stinkin' gnats! and the stinkin' mosquitos! (you get the idea) But cooler weather is setting in...only 88 tonight, so we headed outside after dinner. I have decided to do better at the momma of boys thing and brave the bugs each evening. I lounged on a fluffy blanket, cooing at my baby, tried to keep Cabot from crushing him, and pretended to be attacked by some Narnian monster for Canon's sake. I will say, night time fun made for sleepier boys at bed, but I am currently scratching 5 mongo gigantic bug bites!!
